The Second Ternary

Second Ternary

The second ternary, arcana IV, V, VI

The tetrad, the Emperor, he is the Yod, active (+) force of the ternary, and he too is holding a wand or scepter in his right hand. He is the transitory agent from the first ternary, and is the father quality of the second ternary. The application of the realization of the law is the active force of the Emperor.

The pentad, the Hierophant, is the 1st He, passive (-) force of the ternary. He is seated, and while he is holding a scepter, it is in his left hand, these qualities suggest the passive, even though he is a man. This is also a near reflection of the mother, the High Priestess, from the first ternary. He is an elderly man, seated with two students at his feet. He posses great knowledge, not as great as the dyad, but enough to serve and teach.

The hexad, the Lovers, is the Vau, neutral (=) agent of the ternary. The law being learned and reinforced in conjunction with the knowledge and wisdom of age, tests and trials or maturation, result in procreation. A continuation of the cycle of physical life.

The 2nd He of the Tetragrammaton, the Chariot is active/passive (+/-). Riding in the chariot is a man who is holding a scepter in his right hand. The transitory qualities of the neutral (=) agent, the Lovers will be the victory, represented in the Chariot. More will be discussed about this card in the next section.
