The first ternary is the active (+) ternary, and is ascending. The second ternary is the passive (-) ternary, and is descending. The Chariot represents victory, from the Lovers, a new son is born. That Fool will grow to one day make the realizations which shall give him knowledge of his place on the path. The qualities of the active (+) and the passive (-), will result in the qualities of the neutral (=) agent, those influences are manifested in the the son, as he makes his progression through the first hexad.
Notice that a common aspect among all these cards, in the hexad, is the physical life. The youthful man in the first card, the father, the mother, the daughter, the elderly, and the lovers who in turn bring forth another child. The names of the first six cards are all titles and attributes given to people.
