The Fourth Ternary
The fourth ternary, arcana X, XI, XII.
The Decad, the Wheel of Fortune, is the Yod, active (+) force of this ternary. This ternary in relation to the Tetragrammton, is very important. The Wheel, Rota, is the beginning of the transition from involution to evolution. The Wheel of Fortune rolls over everything, grinding indiscriminately, without malice. Everything grows with the wheel and dies with the wheel. However this card reinforces the idea of the immortality of the absolute, from which all diversity comes from, and to which all will return.
The 11th card, Strength, is the 1st He, passive (-) force of this ternary. In the image a woman holds open the mouth of a lion, seemingly without effort. Her strength therefore is not necessarily physical force, but that of the heart and the spirit. In the binary with the Wheel, the wheel is active (+), inevitable, while Strength, is the passive (-) element. The strength of the Fool's heart and spirit are being developed, the maturation process of his incarnation.
The 12th card, the Hanged Man, is the Vau, and is the neutral (=) agent. Represented by a man hanging from one foot, with his legs crossed and his arms crossed behind his back. Born from the union of the Wheel and Strength, the Hanged Man sacrifices in the tests and trials he takes, that which he give him self for in service, and that which he does with his life. He is not worried for he has trust in the law of four and the turning of the Wheel. He knows that which is inevitable and also that which is duty, and he takes great joy in this privilege and the responsibilities in this duty.
The 2nd He of the Tetragrammaton is the 13th card, Death, and it is active/passive (+/-). Death is the most personal aspect of the wheel, the people we love and our own lives are all eventually met by Death. Death is the transitory agent of this ternary, completing the 2nd septenary.
