The Essence Of The Taro

The Third Septenary
The active (+) and ascending ternary reveals to us the involutionary qualities of the fool's Ego, those false elements which obstruct the purification of the essence within him. The element itself is represented as the Tower when completing the Tetragrammaton.
In the passive (-), descending ternary, the element of false Ego is weighed against its core of the divine truth symbolized by the Star. The degree of the quality of the light of that Star, is reflected by the moon. The amount of illumination reflected and absorbed, will be that which is showered upon the new Tower or mental construct in the transitory element, the Sun.
The children in the image of the Sun, will absorb and grow from the rays the Sun shines upon them. However, the mental formations of involutionary elements can be seen in the distance behind them, and will yet have to be realized, broken down and reborn, until this aspect becomes becomes purified and to that moment of reintegration with the absolute.
Looking at the center column of the cards in figure 9, we can see that the numbers 13, and 16 both equal to one, but that the Sun has value of 2. The Sun is the transitory element in the septenary, in the mental hexad, the Sun would be that spark of divine thought or the element of life in all things. The Sun itself is a symbol of unity and immortality but the 2 hints at the logical progression of the numbers, the manifesting, or unfolding of God. Though The Sun is not God, but the symbol for the influence of divine providence.
It is this element, its transitory qualities which completes the third septenary, but not yet the major arcana of the Taro. The Sun is the agent which brings us to the seventh ternary.
