Install and Uninstall Lexicon 1.0
Installing Lexicon 1.0
This portion of the tutorial is focused on MS Windows XP users. If any Vista or Win7 users wish to contribute to this section, that would be appreciated. With that being said, this tutorial also uses images from my personal computer which may be configured slightly different than yours.
By this point you should have downloaded Lexicon 1.0, if not click here.
Double click on the Lexicon_setup.exe file you had downloaded.
When the setup dialog window appears, click the Next button.
Click on the radial button to accept the license agreement and click on the Next button.
Click the Next button to continue past the information screen.
Choose your install path for Lexicon. You may browse for an alternate path if you would like to. Then click the Next button.
Menu folders within your start button. If you want them, click Next other wise click the check box in the lower left corner and then click Next to continue.
If you would like an icon on your desktop and/or in the quicklaunch, click the related checkbox on the left and then click the Next button.
Confirm the install configuration and if everything is satisfactory, click Install
A progress bar will appear and display the progress of installing Lexicon. After a brief moment, you will be to the final window. You may now click Finish and we are ready to start using Lexicon.
Congratulations, you are now ready to start using Lexicon 1.0
Uninstalling Lexicon
There are several methods available for uninstalling Lexicon 1.0. This section will cover them, again from the perspective of a Windows XP user.
The install process (above), will automatically generate an uninstaller for Lexicon.
The first method of uninstalling Lexicon, is through the Start menu. Click on the Start button and navigate to the Programs folder and locate the Lexicon folder. Inside that folder is a link to the uninstaller, click on Uninstall Lexicon
You will now be prompted with a dialog asking if you want to completely remove Lexicon 1.0. If you are sure you wish to do this, click Yes. Be aware that all data within the Lexicon databases will be lost, if it is not backed up to another location. These files can be found in \Lexicon\database\ where you had installed Lexicon to.
A window will appear and display a progress bar of the uninstall process. After a brief moment, that window disappears and you will be prompted with an Ok button. Click Ok and Lexicon 1.0 has been sucessfully uninstalled from your computer.
Our other method of uninstalling Lexicon 1.0, would be through the Add/Remove Programs control panel applet.
Double click on this icon, locate Lexicon from the list of applications, and click Change/Remove.
