1 The Magician

The Magician is the first of the Major Arana and has the number 1 associated with it. In the image of The Magician we see a young man, which is the hieroglyph symbol of the card. The young man is standing with one arm raised and one arm lowered, symbolizing the above and the below, but more importantly the two polar opposites are unified by his body, in the symbol of the Aleph. Which is one of the major ideas of this image, Unity, also represented by the number one.

Progress report

Tarot of the Bohemians by Papus is now updated through the chapter 9. This is the last of the material to be updated for the site, and should be done shortly.
Also have modified the old news page by splitting news posts by year. Now each year has its own page.
Temple Construction & more additons

The Solitary Society Temple is now under construction. More will be announced over time as it is developed.
In addition to the Temple, I have restored a couple books to the library catalog, have rewritten the welcome text above, have added a page for different Tarot card spreads, and a small document, A Meditation on the Major Arcana, contributed anonymously.
Some small changes and a couple new items

A new section, Technical, has been added to the Library. This section will have a couple small docutments and tutorials for misc. purposes. I have moved the Tarot deck scanning tutorial there, and have added two more items. A new tutorial, which is still being written, on Lexicon 1.0. And another small document displaying various HTML special characters and their codes. Some useful symbols are there, and also all the astrological symbols. Soon I plan to extend this to include Greek and Hebrew alphabet characters.
Two new texts for study, have been added to the Library. The Monad by C.W.Leadbeater, and The Isiac Tablet of Cardinal Bembo by W. Wynn Westcott. Still working on adding more and finishing updates.
New Material

I have written a small tutorial on scanning a deck of Tarot cards, for the friends of Solitary Society who are also contributors to the Solitary Society Comparative Tarot Collection. I hope this tutorial is helpful and makes the task of scanning a deck, a bit easier. The tutorial can be found in the Library, in the Tarot exercises section.
Progress Report

Tarot of the Bohemians by Papus has been updated through chapter 4.
Also as mentioned some time ago, I would be adding several chapters of the Second Book of Occult Philosophy by Agrippa. I have added the first 5 chapters and am continuing work on the others.
New Addition and Progress Update

Have added the Complete Master Key To The Minor Arcana to the library. This very nice list was compiled by my friend Neognostica, and there are plans to update this document with color and images.
Even though its been only a couple days since the last progress update, I might as well share that the library has all been updated except for one book, The Tarot of the Bohemians by Papus.
I have accumulated a lot of material to add to the site. Soon it will be here.
Small Modification and Progress Update

Have added the small welcome/intro text (above) to the home page and have reduced the number of recent news posts from five to three.
Progress goes well on the library updates. Most books are completed with the last few to follow shortly. Unfortunately these last few books are rather large books. These will be completed and uploaded in stages.

Happy New Years to everybody. Goodbye 2009, welcome 2010.
The library is still under construction. Many of the smaller books have been updated, but the larger books are still in the process. The pages of the books themselves have been slightly redesigned with a focus for improved readability.
There have been some changes made to the library. With the idea in mind, of this site's purpose, that being the study of the Tarot and Number theory, I have removed some content from the library. The removed content is readily available at other sites and libraries.
This decision was made to allow me more time bringing more related content to the site and to spend less time supporting content that is not directly related. Thank you for your understanding and please accept my sincerest apologies if this has affected you in any way.
